Overview

This training course is designed to demonstrate the end-to-end process involved in the removal of Class B asbestos. Class B asbestos is a type of asbestos that is usually in a bonded form, normally mixed and sealed into products common in the construction industry. Compounds like plastic or cement can be mixed with asbestos to create a stronger product, which cannot be easily crumbled or pulverised to expose asbestos fibres such as their friable asbestos product counterparts.

Class B asbestos is considered safe as long as it is maintained and the risks become lower as long as the asbestos is not disturbed. However, professional removal is necessary for most situations, and personnel undertaking the removal asbestos in an area of over 10m2 must have completed a non-friable asbestos training course. The procedure must also be done in the presence of someone licenced to supervise asbestos removal.
