Forklift Operator Courses
This course is delivered by Rewi Forster, registered assessor with Competenz. Competenz reports the student’s credits to NZQA.
In New Zealand, all operators driving a forklift on the road must have the F (Forklift) Endorsement on their driver’s licence. There are two forklift courses on offer: Forklift Operator Full Course with F Endorsement, which satisfies NZQA Unit Standard 10851 – Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift) and NZQA Unit Standard 18496 – Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving a forklift on a road for endorsement F (forklifts) and the OSH Forklift Operators Training which only covers NZQA Unit Standard 10851.
Who Should Attend
Individuals who want to formally train in forklift operation. Applicable for either those who want an F endorsement or those who already have the F endorsement and only needs the OSH certificate. Full New Zealand Class 1 (car) licence required for participants.
The full course takes one day. There will be a segment devoted to theory, followed by a session featuring practical training and assessment.
After the course, participants are expected to:
- Describe the legal requirements relating to the driving of a forklift on a road
- Describe driving procedures and general considerations for driving a forklift safely on a road
- Describe environmental factors affecting the safe driving of a forklift on a road
- Demonstrate procedures for driving a forklift safely and legally on a road
