Slinging, Lifting, Moving and Placing (SLMP) Training
Using mobile plant in the workplace can expose workers to a variety of health and safety risks including overturning, suspended loads falling, collision, ejection of operator from the machine, mechanical issues, and other possible failures. People who operate or work around powered mobile plant may also be exposed to hazardous substances, excessive noise and vibration, fall hazards, and others.
This course teaches the principles for using mobile plant to sling, lift, move, and place loads. It also outlines hazard management associated with such machinery, the types and inspection of lifting attachments, gear used, and how to properly communicate during mobile plant operation.
